The We Are All Digital line is an initiative of the INCoDe.2030 programme that brings together efforts of various national entities to help the Portuguese population with fewer digital skills to better cope with the situation of social isolation in which big part of the population finds it self. At a time when the Covid-19 pandemic situation imposes social and professional constraints, the changes in everyone’s lives are enormous. A significant part of the population is increasingly using different digital technology solutions for different purposes, especially to fight isolation. However, there are still a significant number of people in Portugal who, because they have not had the opportunity to acquire basic digital skills, are more alienated from those resources. It is for them that the “We Are All Digital” project provides a free phone line 800 100 555. A vehicle through which people can request help from teams of volunteer mentors recruited from higher education institutions.

The main objective is to promote greater interaction with family and friends, helping people to acquire some basic skills that allow them to reduce the effects of the isolation. To this end, INCoDe.2030 has the support of the NOS operator for the implementation of the helpline, coordinated by the Digital Transformation Colab (DTx), in conjunction with the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., through its National Scientific Computing Unit (FCT/FCCN). The volunteers come from the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), counting on about 30 students coordinated by 15 teachers.
