During this school year, 6 schools from Poland embraced the Apps for Good Program.

And now, it’s time to get to know the tecnological solutions they developed together with their teachers,
for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

At Poland’s Regional Meeting, the students will present their solutions in a 3 minute pitch
and then the jury will have the opportunity to ask questions about their work.

  • 5:30 p.m. | 4:30 p.m. : Awarded Team – We will meet the finalist team –  which will be present at the Final Event at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal. The announcement will be made by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Portugal – Jacek Junosza Kisielewski.

This app will help to select and recognise type of waste, find proper garbage dump. It will also encourage to reduce, report the trash they found and that destroys our planet. Makes people aware to live in a cleaner environment and to recycle waste as it gives some ideas for it. The Earth needs it!

It solves also another psychological problem that is a good mood in the place that was designed and is comfortable or beautiful to live in. It saves the environment as there is DIY function.

Many people are not sure which animal suits them. Here they can check their possibilities, conditions or information about the pets and make a good decision. It stops from abandoning pets and directs to visit animal shelters. It tests if we are animal lovers or just want to have a pet for a few days.

Our app is about sorting litter. User goes through the world and picks up litter. Also takes photos of them and makes projects how to redo it. Sponsor can buy this idea and user is able to make a transfer to organizations fighting with climate changes.

Our app aims to solve the problem of rubbish and improper waste segregation. The user can scan the rubbish and place it into proper bins, which will be powered by renewable energy. It’s also a game, you can collect points with the rubbish found to get discounts at the local cultures.

Our app will help you to decide into which bin you should throw away rubbish. It’s enough to scan it with your mobile and you will see the answer on the screen (for example plastic, paper or organic). Nowadays it is very important that we take care of our planet.

For STUDENTS

How you prepare for the Big Day?

PREPARE YOUR PITCH!

▪️ You’ill have the opportunity to pitch your ideia to a virtual panel of juris and have good feedback about your solution.

▪️ You’ll have 3-minute pitch to present your solution in english. You have to prepare a powerpoint or pdf presentation that can support the pitch, in english too. Also, you decide on who will pitch: if the whole team, just a few elements or just one element.

▪️ We’ll communicate the order of the pitches in advance, so, when it’s your turn, we’ll turn on the microfones and cameras for your team. If the whole team participates in the pitch, make sure that you have a good division of speech to optimize time.

▪️ After your 3-minute pitch, the Juri will have the chance to make some questions, also in 3 minutes, according to the following evaluation criteria.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE EVALUATION CRITERIA

▪️ YOUR IDEA | First of all, you need to describe your general vision in a clear and concise way about what your app does, how well does the solution address the problema, whom tagerts and which are the main functionalities. You can also present other characteristics that you would like to add, for instance:

▪️ YOUR PTOTOYPE | You can show a basic version or ptototype of the solution in order to be able to access its technical viability. Your app have accessible data and content? Can you show the essential characteristics of your solution?

▪️ YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE | Your target audience is correctly defined and your solution is adjusted to them?

▪️ YOUR MARKET RESEARCH | Can you show knowledge of your competitors and explain how their solution can differentiate themselves? Or your idea does not have any competitors?

▪️ YOUR BUSINESS MODEL and COMMUNICATION | Which business model do you have defined and why? Which channels do you will communicate your app in?
